Position: Patient Care TechDepartment: General SurgeryShift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am Full Time 36 hours a week, 72 hours per pay periodFacility: Miami Valley HospitalA Patient Care Technician, or PCT, works with nurses and doctors to care for patients. Some of the tasks they do areCheck things like temperature, heartbeat, and breathing.Help patients move around, get dressed, and eat.Collect samples like urine.Report any changes in a patient's condition to a nurse.Help with patient walks, hygiene, weighing patients, vitalsThe PCT works under the supervision of the nurse, which means the nurse makes sure they are doing things safely and correctly. Bathing, turning/positioning, toiletingCurrently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.*Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation.
