How You Will Spend Your Time Ask personalized questions to turn every customer interaction into an opportunity to learn about their financial goals and connect them to solutions that meet their needs. Individually create and manage a successful loan pipeline with strong closing conversions by focusing on prospecting and cross‑selling home equity loans, lines of credit, unsecured personal loans, auto loans, and mortgage referrals. Create sales opportunities and grow UMB's customer base by applying product knowledge to source consumer lending opportunities through networking, customer conversations, business development, and proactive sourcing. Learn processes such as transaction handling, managing a cash drawer, and completing bank documentation consistently performing according to industry and legal standards. Challenge personal key performance metrics to elevate goals while balancing competing priorities and delivering an unparalleled customer experience. Perform other duties as assigned. We’re excited to talk to you if You have a high school diploma or equivalent. You have at least two years of retail banking sales experience or other relevant experience. You have reliable transportation and the ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings. You can obtain a NMLS registration within 90 days. You can learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately. You have basic math skills and can solve problems while operating within established risk parameters and tolerances. You can make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open‑ended questions, and listen to establish trust and build lasting relationships. You possess strong business‑development capabilities to proactively grow your own book of business by using campaign offers, prospecting leads, service‑to‑sales conversations, and leveraging centers of influence for referrals. You thrive in a high‑energy, sales‑driven team and leverage daily coaching and feedback to improve sales outcomes. You use your product knowledge and conversation skills to build upon customers’ needs and create a true difference in their financial lives. You communicate compellingly, project a positive image, and enjoy solving problems and creating positive outcomes. You pay careful attention to detail when completing documents or explaining features and benefits. You enjoy coaching others as a sales mentor. Bonus points if You have a college degree or military equivalent—strongly preferred. You are bilingual. Compensation Ranges US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York: $35,750 - $52,040 US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $32,640 - $47,640 US Employees in all other states not listed above: $29,530 - $43,240 The posted compensation range represents UMB’s good faith estimate based on its budget and the expected starting pay for this role, but actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other factors.
