Aviation Catering Food Prep Team Member

Atikis Minnesota Aviation Catering is hiring a reliable, detail-oriented full-time food prep team member to support our busy aviation catering operation.

This position assists with preparing, portioning, assembling, packaging, and organizing food orders for private and corporate aircraft. Because our meals are prepared for aviation clients, accuracy, presentation, food safety, and attention to detail are extremely important.

The ideal candidate is reliable, works well as part of a team, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working in a kitchen environment where orders must be completed accurately and on time.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Prepare ingredients including washing, cutting, slicing, portioning, and assembling food items.
• Assist cooks and culinary staff with daily food preparation.
• Assemble salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, fruit, snacks, sides, trays, and other menu items.
• Portion food according to established recipes and order specifications.
• Carefully package and label completed items for aviation catering orders.
• Review orders to ensure items are complete, accurate, and properly presented.
• Follow instructions regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, and special customer requests.
• Stock and organize prep areas, coolers, and supplies.
• Rotate food and ingredients using proper food-storage procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
• Wash and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and prep areas as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and putting away food and kitchen supplies.
• Communicate with cooks, leads, and other team members to ensure orders are completed on schedule.
• Assist in other kitchen and catering duties as needed.

Qualifications include:

• Previous food preparation, kitchen, catering, deli, restaurant, or food-service experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to read order information, labels, recipes, and special instructions.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities as orders change.

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive food-preparation tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 4050 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in kitchen, cooler, and food-storage environments.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position. Candidates must have dependable availability and flexibility based on business and flight-catering needs. Some early mornings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
