Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT production equipment and facility systems to ensure reliable, efficient operations. This role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, supporting SMT processes such as printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens, and maintaining a clean, safe, and high-performing manufacturing environment.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT equipment and facility systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and production equipment issues using meters, volt meters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Support SMT operations, including printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, conveyors, and related production equipment.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery such as presses, packaging machines, kettles, agitators, and CNC equipment, as applicable.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain pneumatic systems, motors, sensors, relays, solenoids, and electrical panels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and ladder logic diagrams to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to schedule and complete repairs, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
• Assist with facility upkeep, including equipment moves, general building maintenance, and support of HVAC and boiler systems when needed.
• Follow safety, ESD, and quality standards at all times while supporting daily production and throughput goals.
• Document maintenance activities, report equipment issues promptly, and communicate status updates to production and engineering teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance procedures.
• Adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment, managing multiple maintenance tasks and responding quickly to urgent equipment needs.

• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting SMT production equipment such as printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and repair.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with AC/DC systems, relays, sensors, and electrical panels.
• Proven preventive and corrective maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, including valves, actuators, and air distribution components.
• Knowledge of motors, conveyors, and automated production equipment.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as volt meters and other metering devices to test and verify equipment performance.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on minimizing equipment downtime.
• Comfort working with PLCs and ladder logic for basic troubleshooting and system understanding.
• Ability to work safely with industrial equipment and follow established safety, ESD, and quality procedures.
• Capability to perform extended periods of standing, walking, and hands-on equipment maintenance activities.

• Experience with industrial equipment such as presses, packaging machines, conveyors, kettles, agitators, and CNC machinery.
• Exposure to HVAC and boiler systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with automotive or glass manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Experience working with solenoids and other electromechanical components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and panel layouts for troubleshooting and repair.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple maintenance tasks concurrently.
• Adaptability to overtime and occasional weekend work to support production needs.

This role is based in a clean manufacturing facility where safety and quality standards are strictly followed. You will spend extended periods standing, walking, and performing hands-on equipment maintenance, often in a fast-paced setting that requires strong time management and adaptability. Personal protective equipment, ESD gear, and other safety equipment must be worn in designated areas in accordance with site policies. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to support business needs and production schedules. The typical dress code is casual, including jeans, t-shirts, and tennis shoes, paired with appropriate PPE when working on or around production equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
