- Position Summary
- Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions in the Art Department.
- Start Date
- Positions available on or after February 1, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Job Description/Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Welcomes visitors to the gallery.
- Provide visitors with information, directions, and assistance.
- Monitor galleries to keep art safe, and communicate off-limits boundaries with guests.
- Provide assistance in attending and monitoring receptions, programs, educational activities, and other events.
- Provide general information about the exhibition, artist, media, technique, or other questions.
- Installation and deinstallation assistance with exhibitions, hanging and taking down art work.
- Keeping gallery attendance trackers updated.
- Answer phones and respond to incoming inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiar with art in all its various media.
- Art Major knowledgeable about the range of art making.
- Experience with attending gallery events and exhibitions.
- Experience with installing and deinstalling art work of various kinds.
- Experience with handling hand and power tools
- The schedule for this position is flexible in nature, some evenings and weekends will be required.
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
- Salary Range
- $16.90 per hour.
