Power Electronics PCB Architect (Xpedition)What your day could look like

You start the morning refining performance, interface, and environmental requirements—making sure every trace back to the system needs is clear. By mid-morning, you’re building out schematics in Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and translating those into EPCAD layouts, weaving in signal‑integrity, grounding, isolation, and EMI mitigation best practices. After lunch, you sync with mechanical, software, and test to align build and verification schedules. You close the day compiling a complete design data package—BOMs, drawings, test plans, and verification evidence—ready for the next Design Assurance review gate. Along the way, you coach junior engineers, raising the technical bar for the whole team.

• Work Hours: 4/10 – 1st Shift

• On-site expectation: 3 days per week on site, dependent on program needs
• Core in-office days: Tuesday and Wednesday
• Flexible WFH: Monday or Thursday

• Full lifecycle circuit card design for power electronics—from concept through layout, verification, and release—meeting power distribution, EMI, grounding, isolation, thermal, reliability, and environmental objectives.
• Schematic capture and EPCAD layout using Siemens Xpedition Enterprise (or equivalent), applying robust routing and signal‑integrity techniques.
• Definition, documentation, and end‑to‑end traceability of performance, interface, and environmental requirements.
• Trade studies that balance components, architectures, and manufacturing processes for optimal outcomes.
• Creation of complete design data packs: BOMs, drawings, test plans, and verification results for Design Assurance reviews and release.
• Cross‑functional coordination with mechanical, software, and test teams to synchronize design, procurement, and test timelines.
• Evidence and documentation for each Design Assurance gate to demonstrate compliance with program standards and regulations.
• Mentorship of junior engineers and contribution to an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on technical rigor.

• Hands‑on experience developing and refining system requirements (performance, interfaces, environmental).
• Proven background in circuit card design, integration, and testing for power electronics.
• Proficiency with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise or a comparable schematic capture tool.

• Experience in system power design and power distribution architectures.
• Practical knowledge of EMI, grounding, and isolation strategies.
• Familiarity with the MFC Design Assurance process.
• Experience using EPCAD for layout and signal routing.
• Understanding of environmental qualification testing for electronic assemblies (e.g., shock, vibration).
• Ability to run trade studies and develop architecture diagrams and requirements packages.

Accredited Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of eight years of professional experience.

Candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
