Fiber Splicer

Fiber Splicer TEKsystems is looking for a Fiber Splicer for our client in the Eastern Shore. The client is a cooperative based in Salisbury, MD, that works to advance broadband infrastructure across the state. Responsibilities Conduct OSP and ISP fiber splicing across aerial and underground networks. Perform single fiber and ribbon splicing, including 24‑strand up to 864‑count splices and rollable ribbon (200‑250 µm). Conduct OTDR testing (EXFO) and ensure low‑loss splices (target DB loss ~0.1‑0.2 dB). Maintain splice quality standards on high‑density LC panels for hub sites. Tune and calibrate splice machines and maintain splice van and tools. Handle connector work for SC/UPC and manage field equipment. Occasional housekeeping and office days for equipment upkeep. Qualifications Required: Proven fiber splicing experience (OSP and/or ISP). Experience with single fiber + ribbon splicing. Strong troubleshooting and OTDR testing skills. Ability to meet strict loss and performance standards. Comfortable working in field environments independently. Preferred: Experience supporting data center builds. Familiarity with high‑fiber count networks (432/864). Exposure to Vetro mapping or GIS tools. Experience with aerial fiber (hand work). Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based in Salisbury, MD. The role requires travel to the Eastern Shore (Berlin–Harry Nice Bridge Corridor) and is located near Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Centreville, Glen Burnie, etc. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour.
