Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct individual therapy sessions and group therapy for students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). \n
- Facilitate family counseling sessions to strengthen coping mechanisms within the family unit and to address issues impacting students' well-being. \n
- Collaborate closely with educational staff, counselors, and other practitioners to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for students. \n
- Provide crisis intervention support and appropriately refer students or families to additional mental health resources when needed. \n
- Maintain clinical documentation and patient records following HIPAA guidelines, ensuring all information is accurate, accessible, and up-to-date. \n
- Engage with the clinical team through case conferences, staff meetings, and supervision sessions to continually refine skills and elevate the standard of care offered to clients. \n
This role is primarily centered around supporting students within the Elgin, Illinois area. We serve a diverse demographic, including children and adolescents who face various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. You will also work with their families to foster environments that support healthy development and learning.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required. \n
- Active licensing as a Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. \n
- A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly in an outpatient or educational setting, is essential. \n
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to implement, evidence-based therapeutic interventions effectively. \n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling collaboration with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams. \n
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. \n
While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with additional experience in school-based mental health services, trauma-informed care, or youth counseling will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with documentation software and telehealth platforms can provide a competitive edge.
