Chief Technology OfficerManagement Controls Inc. (MCi) is excited to welcome a Chief Technology Officer to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. The CTO is on the Executive Leadership team and is responsible for all technology related matters. This includes product management, product design, quality assurance, engineering, and infrastructure.Management Controls, Inc. (MCi) is an AI-forward organization committed to leveraging artificial intelligence to drive efficiency, innovation, and automation across all functions. Employees are expected to actively adopt and utilize approved AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and internal AI solutions, to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support data-driven decision-making. All team members are responsible for using AI in a secure, compliant, and accountable manner, ensuring outputs are validated and aligned with company standards and governance practices.Management Controls Inc. is headquartered in Houston, Texas. This position is based at the Houston headquarters on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office. It is not eligible for sponsorship, relocation, or fully remote work.Formulate technology strategy and product vision that supports the overall corporate strategyLead transformation of product ideas from their most formidable stages into market-ready solutions while maintaining a serious consideration of the financial implications, marketing needs and overall objectives of the businessManage the day-to-day execution of all technology activities for the purpose of meeting product and business goals. This includes management of the Product Management, Design, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Infrastructure teamsOversee activities of direct reports with mentorship, encouragement, and corrective actionsChampion MCi's products, leveraging the input and capabilities of the Marketing departmentEnsure that product design, product maintenance, and product improvements resonate with customers, boost product appeal, and reach revenue goalsConduct research analysis into future product direction, gap analysis, product differentiation, and execution strategies that will lead to the product's ultimate successIdentify, manage, and leverage new technology innovationImplement and oversee security measures to protect the company's data and technology assets.Develop and manage department budget, including resource allocation for projects and initiativesEncourage adoption of new ideas and methodsSupport Sales and Customer Success departmentsLeverage AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to improve and advance Technology departmentDegree in Computer Science or similar; MBA preferredMinimum of 15+ years of operational experience, including proven operational success in the contract and technology sectorsExcellent leadership skills, including the ability develop trust and credibility, lead by example and motive high-performing teamsFinancially fluency, including experience owning P&L and driving decisions around spend. Experience with capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and successfully executing on transactions. Experience with private equity or venture capital is a plus.Experience operating an AI-enabled SDLC, including using collaborative tools to translate product requirements into user stories, employing AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) for development and unit testing, and leveraging AI-augmented QA tools (e.g., Playwright) for automated testing and quality assuranceFamiliarity with SAP ERP integrations, OAuth/OIDC authentication protocols, and cloud-native integration infrastructure (Azure preferred)Hands-on experience with a modern Microsoft technology stack, including C#,.NET, Angular, Kubernetes, and Azure-native infrastructure, along with Elastic and Power BI for search, embedded reporting, and analyticsAbility to juggle multiple priorities in a complex environmentFinancially fluency, including experience owning P&L and driving decisions around spend. Experience with capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and successfully executing on transactions. Experience with private equity or venture capital is a plus.Strong communications skills – Excellent spoken and written English communication skillsEffective, polished interaction in virtual delivery in 1:1 engagements or presentationsSuperior problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems and develop solutionsOutstanding partnering capabilities and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to drive product/service improvements in core technical focus areaKnowledge and understanding of practical applications for AI in technology development
