Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervisor I, Payroll and Benefits, the incumbent is responsible for personnel transactions of an assigned roster of approximately 250+ employees. Duties include, but are not limited to, processing of payroll, keying timesheets into California Leave Accounting System (CLAS), completing salary determinations, and processing Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs). The employee is responsible for interpreting and applying personnel related laws, rules, regulations, agency policies and procedures and Memorandum of Understanding for various bargaining units.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.

5) Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.
