Inventory Management Specialist

Job TitleJob DescriptionProvides tailored customer support, maintains customer data, and responds to customer inquiries.Reviews backorder status reports on a daily basis and takes appropriate action to escalate backorders no meeting customer requirements.Receives and processes order cancellations, provides status updates and modifications, and conducts follow-up on customer receipt.Investigates, coordinates and releases Sales Orders that inhibit flow through automated systems.Applies DLA expedite policy and other standard operating procedures to request expedite actions within supply chains and/or emergency issuance from controlled stock.Recommends use of alternative sources of supply when faced with long lead times and identifies potential sources of supply for emergency requirements for which there is an order.Reviews performance metrics and takes action to improve processes when performance falls below goal.Provides input to higher graded CSSs regarding cause analysis findings in areas requiring performance improvement.Prepares briefing materials including background information, recommendations, statistical data, charts and graphs; writes detailed reports concerning the status of their assignments and issues identified in the course of performing the work.Coordinates with key storage and distribution personnel to resolve discrepancies and routine problems.
