Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse position is located in Shreveport, Louisiana. This role involves providing exceptional post-anesthesia recovery care for a diverse patient population, from newborns to geriatrics, following various surgical procedures. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients requiring critical care transfers, ensuring safety and comfort during recovery.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times around 11:30 AM and end times approximately at 8:00 PM, depending on operational needs. The minimum weekly hours are 40 hours.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. Must have at least 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications include BLS certification from AHA, current ACLS certification, current PALS or ENPC certification, and a valid RN License in the state of employment or through a compact license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in perioperative nursing or recent practice within an OR/Perioperative setting is highly preferred.
• Additional Information: Newly hired RNs must attend a comprehensive orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Precepting and onboarding are validated through successful completion of designated competency validations, including perioperative-specific skills and annual competency requirements.
• Job Responsibilities: Provide independent nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects, and document all patient care activities. Assess learning needs and deliver patient, family, and caregiver education.
