Responsibilities Be a trusted member of the team providing tax, accounting and advisory services to small‑business clients. Oversee and provide services related to accounting, bookkeeping and prepared or compiled financials. Review and analyze accounting records, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients regarding accounting and business matters. Deliver best‑in‑class customer service with an emphasis on responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy. Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluating processes and procedures to implement efficiencies and identify internal control issues. Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on knowledge of client operations, processes and objectives. Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to address and resolve client issues, and assist team leaders in researching and providing additional services to clients. Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles and scheduling deadlines to meet client expectations for delivery. Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal tax practices and laws. Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections and ensure client profitability targets are met. Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong internal and external client relationships. Invest in professional development through firm‐wide learning and development programs. Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly’s Care and Teach philosophy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s or advanced degree desirable. CPA or JD required. Five (5)+ years of experience in federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm. Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates. Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills. Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills. Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred. Compensation $110,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
