Pay Rate

Local: $55 - $58/hr
Traveler: $60 - $65/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an Echocardiographer to perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including diagnostic, stress, TEE, Doppler, Strain, and 3D echocardiography studies.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or accredited ultrasonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.

• RDCS or RDMS certification.

• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

• Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.

• Minimum 15 hours of echocardiography-related continuing education over 3 years.

• English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.

• Ability to maintain required competencies, certifications, and continuing education.

• 1 year of clinical echocardiography experience preferred.

• 2 years of cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D, M-Mode, color flow, stress echo, TEE, and Doppler studies.

• Perform Strain and 3D echocardiography studies.

• Assist cardiology attendings during stress echocardiograms and TEE procedures.

• Obtain patient history and perform procedures as ordered.

• Recognize and communicate abnormal or life-threatening findings to the supervisor and cardiologist.

• Acquire and digitally store echo studies for physician interpretation.

• Transport equipment for bedside studies.

• Calibrate, clean, and maintain equipment and report issues as needed.

• Complete billing requisitions, logs, worksheets, and reports.

• Maintain clean and safe patient-care areas.

• Follow aseptic, sterile, and isolation procedures.

• Provide care appropriate to patient age, culture, language, and communication needs.

• Assist with training new employees and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
