Director of EngineeringTech Tammina LLCJob DescriptionExperience:NOTE: Looking for local or nearby CandidatesMinimum 10 years work-related experience, 3-5 years Management experienceWorking knowledge of Lean methodologiesHas good knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), SAE, and other over-the-road vehicle standards and specifications.Communications:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsEffective interaction with personnel at various levels within and outside the businessPositive working attitude toward other employees; be a team playerEngineering Focus:Develop and lead a team of engineers, designers, and technicians towards world class goals while converting specific customer requirements to robust engineering designs/packagesProvides leadership and direction such that the engineering process is developed and executed similar to a production process, driving efficiencies in cycle time/lead time reduction and defect reductionSupports the Lean Organization while working closely with manufacturing, quality, and materials on product and process improvement initiativesManages the total cost of the Bill of MaterialsOversees the Development of all projects and initiatives including proposal/approval, budgeting, resourcing, milestone deliverables, reliability testing, prototype manufacturing and production launchLiaisons with Sales and Operations Management in the evaluation of new product offeringsDrive product development through a strong understanding of the marketplace and competitive landscapeQualificationsEducation/Misc.:4 year Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree or Professional Engineering degrees desirableTechnical knowledge of mechanical design and material specifications.Ability to operate a PC with Solid Works or similar softwareAdditional certifications and training in Lean, Six Sigma, or other advanced degree programs desirableAbility to travel to other plants (North Carolina) and industry events
