Job Description Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) Company: Vertiv (ERS / HVM)Location: TexasTravel: Up to 75% (regional and national project assignments)Employment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: Up to $110/hour What We Offer - Best-in-Market Benefit Details Base Compensation Up to $110/hour based on certification level and experience Overtime & Double-Time Aggressive OT policies; top performers exceed $200K total annually Signing Bonus Up to $15,000 based on certification level Company Vehicle Ford F150 with fuel card - fully maintained Per Diem Generous daily rate for out-of-town assignments + travel bonus program NETA Level-Up Bonus Cash bonus for every certification level advancement Retirement 401(k) with profit sharing Medical Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Tools & Equipment All PPE, test equipment, smartphone, and laptop provided Professional Development Full certification reimbursement + tuition reimbursement for continuing education Career Progression Clear pathways from Field Engineer - Technical Lead - Services Manager Referral Bonuses $7,500+ for successful NETA-certified referrals PTO Flexible paid time off and holiday schedule What You'll Do Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based) Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements Required NETA Level III or Level IV Certification (current and in good standing) 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalent Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs Valid driver's license with clean driving record Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%) Preferred NETA Level IV Certification NICET Certification Experience with SF6 breaker maintenance Power systems engineering or related degree Prior leadership/supervisory experience on testing projects Experience in data center, utility, or industrial critical power environments The anticipated salary range for this role in the CA, Cleveland- OH, CO, CT, NYC, MA, ME, MD, NJ, HI, IL, MN, VA, VT, Washington D.C localities are between $158,8526 to $230,000 per year -salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing, allowances, travel and/or car expenses, and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employee's role and individual offer details.
