Behavioral Health Specialist I- ECM

General Purpose Under the administrative supervision of the Program Director or designee, this at‑will direct service position is responsible for providing psychosocial, rehabilitation, and recovery‑oriented services for Turning Point members. The role involves advocating for members in all areas of treatment, assisting them in applying for and receiving services, and offering additional support in medication management, resource connection (housing, AOD, PCP, OP, etc.), counseling, and advocacy as needed. The position requires providing after‑hours, “on‑call” coverage on a rotational basis based on program needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (illustrative) Provide leadership and direction to clients in the absence of the Program Director or designee. Advocate for clients in all treatment areas and help them apply for and receive services, empowering them to meet their goals. Assist clients and their families in accessing and receiving mental health treatment, medical care, housing, food, and clothing as indicated. Support individual service plans for each client. Maintain all client records and complete required documentation and data entry (progress notes, activity reports, logs, etc.) according to program standards. Meet regularly with clients at Turning Point sites or in the field, at job sites, homes, board and care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other appropriate sites. Consult with or meet regularly with the client’s family, care provider, or other significant persons with the client’s consent. Coach clients in developing age‑appropriate social skills, money management, personal hygiene, and job readiness. Assist in establishing the client’s eligibility for Medi‑Cal or other benefits and advocate for continuation of benefits when appropriate. Develop financial management plans for clients who receive Representative Payee Services and authorize appropriate expenditures. Interact productively within the team to provide holistic case management services to an identified group of clients. Provide “on‑the‑spot” counseling that is helpful and consistent with the program philosophy. Drive on program business using a personal vehicle for medication outreach, home visits, transporting clients to appointments/activities, community/county meetings/trainings, and MH court. Attend to the safety, health, and well‑being of clients. Complete paperwork as assigned promptly. Qualifications Minimum: High school diploma or accredited GED plus four (4) years of direct mental health service experience. Relevant higher education may substitute up to two (2) years of experience. Optimum: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field plus four (4) years of direct mental health service experience or meeting other Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist qualifications. Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance/registration. Reliable personal transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection (if more than five years old), excluding all modes of two‑wheeled transport (bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles). Schedule Monday– Friday, 8:00 AM– 4:30 PM. Compensation $24–$26per hour. #J-18808-Ljbffr
