About the Role The Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician. You’ll gain hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 1–2 years. Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses). Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs. Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators). Inspection & Support Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians. Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting. Shop Responsibilities Follow shop procedures and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Accurately document work performed. Requirements 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training. High school diploma or GED. Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply). Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a team environment. Work Environment This is a hands-on shop role that includes: Working with heavy equipment and mechanical systems. Frequent standing, lifting 50+ pounds, and physical activity. Exposure to noise, heat, and shop conditions.
