Growing together.The Commercial Underwriter is experienced in credit analysis and will be responsible for assisting in the review and underwriting of loan requests to help the bank build, maintain, and accurately risk grade its strong credit portfolio. This will involve working closely with other analysts by assisting with training, underwriters, portfolio managers, and credit administration.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Analyze new commercial loan requests and perform periodic reviews on existing commercial loansConduct analysis of financial statements and assess overall credit risk of new and existing loansTake lead role in presenting analysis, findings, and recommendations to Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, and other members of the Credit teamAssess and recommend risk ratings for analyzed loansBe knowledgeable of policies, guidelines, procedures, regulations and systems applicable to the credit team functionsComplete quarterly and annual covenant compliance testing for existing loans in the portfolioAnalyze and document loan modification requestsAssist with portfolio management and monitoringDevelop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clientsAssist with special projects and complete other duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:2+ years of experience analyzing business and personal financial statements associated with loan requests2+ years of experience underwriting commercial loans, including commercial real estate loansUnderstanding and knowledge of FDIC and other regulatory rules and requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or economics from an accredited institutionCompletion of a formal commercial credit training programPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
