About us:

Popp's Ferry Out-Patient Surgery Center, LLC is a Certified Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) consisting of two (2) Operating Rooms located in Biloxi, MS. We specialize in Ophthalmologic Surgery and provide our services to the surrounding community.

Surgery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Responsibilities Include:

• Handling and sterilizations of all instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality of instruments and patient safety during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterilization room.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile processing for the procedure.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of the OR and prepping for the next patient.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Performs basic life support procedures and provide care to patients in an Operating Room setting.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess one of the following: Valid certification or license from an accredited school program for Sterlization Processing; or a graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing School program, or evidence of extensive on-the job training as a Technician or relevant healthcare credential.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a sterilization technician is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of infection control practices and protocols.
• BLS is required at time of hire.
