Field Service Technician

Job Title Field Service Technician (Traveling) Location Dallas–Fort Worth, TX (within 1 hour of DFW Airport) Travel Up to 100% (Mon–Fri, year-round; occasional international) Overview We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair industrial sheet-metal fabrication equipment across customer sites. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, frequent travel, and a customer-first mindset. The technician will support equipment uptime, deliver technical training, and provide both on-site and remote support while collaborating with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery. Core Responsibilities Install, commission, and service industrial fabrication equipment at customer sites Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to optimize equipment reliability Provide technical support (on-site and phone/Help Desk) including warranty service Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and OEM specifications Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and electrical test equipment Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures Document service activities, parts usage, and maintenance outcomes Collaborate with engineering, operations, and service teams on field issues and improvements Travel to customer locations domestically (and occasionally internationally) Required Qualifications Located near Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and within 1 hour of a major airport (DFW) Ability to travel up to 100% (Mon–Fri) year-round Eligible to obtain a U.S. Passport Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Experience in industrial equipment service, manufacturing, or field maintenance Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience Experience with roll forming or sheet-metal fabrication equipment Technical Skills Field Service & Equipment Installation Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Electrical Troubleshooting Mechanical Systems Repair Technical Diagnostics OEM Equipment Support Precision Measurement Tools Electrical Testing Instruments Tools & Technologies Hand & Power Tools CMMS/Service Documentation Systems Microsoft Office / Service Reporting Tools Customer & Service Skills Customer Technical Support (On-site & Remote) Equipment Training & Onboarding Warranty Support Service Documentation Cross-functional Collaboration Operational Skills Travel-based Field Operations Safety Compliance (Industrial/Manufacturing) Time & Route Management Inventory/Parts Coordination Soft Skills Problem Solving Communication Customer Focus Work Environment & Physical Requirements Industrial manufacturing and customer job-site environments Frequent travel (air and car) Standing, lifting, climbing, and tool operation required Medical (employee option company-paid) HSA with employer contribution FSA options Company-paid life & long-term disability Short-term disability & voluntary benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr GTN Technical Staffing
