We’re looking for a Lead Unity Engineer to join our team!
We are Rogue Wombat Studios , a new indie studio dedicated to diverse, inclusive storytelling and 100% human-made art (strictly no generative AI). We’re looking for a software engineer to join our scrappy team of industry creatives and help us build our first game, Unbound !
Unbound is a dynamic 2D visual novel launching first on iOS and Android .
The Role & Tech Stack:
- The Engine: Unity (2D sprites, animation pipelines, custom shaders).
- The Narrative Bridge: You will collaborate with our Narrative Director to integrate Ink scripts into Unity—specifically parsing tags to trigger asset changes, expressions, and UI events. (No writing required!)
- Main game features : a robust avatar creation tool, customizable room, multiple stories, rewards at the end of every chapter, new unrevealed mechanics, explore the magical town of Inkwell Hollow conversing with its eccentric locals and unlocking new stories, outfits, and more!
- The Goal: Build a playable demo by Spring 2027 for our Kickstarter campaign.
The Terms:
We are a passionate, grassroots startup with limited immediate funds. We are looking for a true partner and are offering Founding Equity or a Deferred Compensation Agreement tied directly to Kickstarter success next Spring.
