Gate Operator Installer / Field Service Technician

Compensation: Minimum $25+ per hour, negotiable - based on experience and qualifications
Regular Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
On Call Rotating Schedule: Will discuss in person

Job Description

Victory Access Control is seeking motivated, dependable, and experienced Gate Automation Technicians to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing automatic gate operators and access control systems.

We are also willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, relevant mechanical or electrical experience, problem-solving abilities, and a genuine interest in learning the trade. Compensation for candidates requiring training will be based on qualifications and experience.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting automatic gate operators
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical gate systems
• Experience with low-voltage wiring and electrical diagnostics
• Familiarity with swing gates, slide gates, and barrier arm operators
• Knowledge of access control systems, keypads, telephone entry systems, and safety devices
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical failures
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Employment Requirements

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check, consistent with applicable law
• Confidentiality & Professional Discretion: Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and discretion when working on private estates, luxury communities, and high-profile properties. Strict confidentiality regarding client information, property details, security systems, and access credentials is required. Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment.

Physical & Outdoor Work Environment

The majority of work is performed outdoors throughout the year in Florida's climate, including high temperatures, humidity, and varying weather conditions.

Candidates must:

• Be comfortable working outdoors year-round in Florida's weather conditions
• Be able to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding installation and service work, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Be capable of performing field installations, maintenance, and repairs while following established safety procedures and weather-related safety protocols

Responsibilities & Duties

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automatic gate operators and access control systems
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and low-voltage electrical issues
• Install and service gate safety devices, vehicle detection loops, and related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
• Identify system failures and recommend appropriate repairs
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and company vehicle
• Complete service documentation accurately and efficiently

Additional On-Call Compensation (Experienced Technicians Only)

• Rotating on-call schedule outside regular business hours
• $150 stipend for each assigned on-call week
• Attractive hourly rates for after-hours and weekend on-call service calls
• Enhanced holiday pay rates for service calls performed on designated holidays
• Specific on-call compensation rates and details discussed during the interview
