Construction Accounting Manager

100% ON SITE role in Santa Fe, NM - Salary 70-80k depending on experience

**Growing Albuquerque construction company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of our accounting operations and help build scalable financial processes for a rapidly expanding business.**

This is a hands-on position responsible for managing accounting across multiple entities and revenue streams, including commercial construction, government projects, and real estate partnerships. We're looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and providing accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities:**

* Manage full-cycle accounting, including AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close

* Oversee construction job costing and cost accounting

* Maintain accurate financial reporting across multiple entities

* Support certified payroll and compliance for government projects

* Improve existing accounting processes and internal workflows

* Work closely with ownership to provide timely and accurate financial information

* Maintain QuickBooks and ensure data integrity

**Qualifications:**

* Construction accounting experience required

* Strong QuickBooks experience

* Job cost accounting and cost accounting experience required

* Experience managing accounting for multiple entities preferred

* Knowledge of certified payroll and government project compliance is a plus

* Self-starter who can work independently and help improve accounting operations

• Prior experience in construction accounting is required.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, including desktop and online environments, is essential.
• Demonstrated background in job cost accounting and broader cost accounting practices.
• Experience handling accounting activities for more than one entity is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with certified payroll administration and compliance standards for government projects is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage month-end close, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries with accuracy.
• Comfortable working independently, identifying gaps in existing processes, and driving operational improvements.
