Material Handler - First Shift

Material HandlerU.S. Lumber, an SBP brand is currently looking for a Material Handler on 1st shift to work in our Indianapolis, IN facility. Our Material Handlers are responsible for performing a number of different and important responsibilities including material receiving, material & product movement, product shipping and production support responsibilities.Essential Functions:Receive, audit, inspect, ID and put away incoming material to proper locationsMaintain housekeeping and organization in warehouse and other material location areaMaintain correct inventories by moving materials in computer when physically moving materialsAssists assigning production areas when not moving materialsEnsure the product and or materials meet quality expectationsNotify supervisor of improvement opportunitiesSupport area needs to remove empty pallets, trash and recycle type materialsClean all parts and pieces using sandpaper, acetone on a cloth rag, or using air hose to blow off dust in tough to reach areas to ensure parts and pieces are ready to be paintedService the pre-finish line with needed material components (loading paint carts with frame parts and door's)Assist pre-finish line area with removal of completed product to go to build prep and or stretch-wrap machineStage completed and stretched wrapped door products into shipping staging lanes by loadsLoad trucks with finished door products per direction of Production ManagerResponsible for adhering to forklift, operational, quality and safety guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedPosition Qualifications:Competency Statement(s): Communicates Effectively, Customer Driven, Demonstrates Inclusion, Drives Quality, Safety Orientation, Drives Results, Product/Job Knowledge, Promotes Teamwork, Self-Development, Ground Engaged, Enthusiasm, Acts with IntegritySkills & Abilities:Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Experience: One to two years related experienceComputer Skills: Experience using computer and handheld scanning gunCertificates & Licenses: OSHA Forklift certificationOther Requirements: Previous experience in material handling responsibilities in a production environment, Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsSpecialty Building Products is the leading distributor of specialty building products in North America.
