The Preschool Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for preschoolers aged 3 to 4 years. With a typical student-to-assistant ratio of 8 to 1, the assistant plays a vital role in supervising children, assisting with lesson implementation, and often leading activities independently while maintaining close communication with the lead teacher.
Responsibilities
- Assist in classroom management and student supervision
- Prepare and organize materials for daily activities
- Support lesson plan implementation and assist with teaching activities
- Monitor student behavior and encourage positive interactions
- Engage students in educational and recreational activities
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with the lead teacher regarding student progress and concerns
- Lead activities independently as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in early childhood education
