Blissful Being Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote role will center around providing comprehensive therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The ideal candidate will engage in meaningful therapeutic interventions that promote growth, decision-making, and emotional wellbeing in our clients, all while working from the comfort of their own home.

Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while still fostering a strong connection with clients. Although the majority of therapy sessions will occur virtually or in clients' homes, our outpatient office in Colorado Springs will serve as a collaborative hub for team meetings and training opportunities. This approach enables our therapists to adapt to the varying needs of the families they support while maintaining a high standard of care.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct individual and/or group therapy sessions, focusing on in-home interventions or outreach within our outpatient center, targeting the behavioral and emotional challenges faced by youth.

  • Develop and implement therapeutic strategies aimed at enhancing anger management, coping skills, and social competencies while addressing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices to improve the decision-making capabilities of youths and their caretakers, thereby equipping them to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to create a comprehensive support network for families.
  • \n
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all required materials, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, meeting outlined deadlines.

  • Participate actively in monthly meetings to review cases, share insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our therapeutic services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who present with developmental and intellectual disabilities. These clients may face a myriad of challenges, including behavioral issues, emotional distress, and difficulties with social interaction. Our therapists play a pivotal role in fostering resilience and independence among these individuals while supporting their families in navigating their unique circumstances.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related mental health field is required.
  • \n
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this position.
  • \n
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (from 4 PM to 7 PM), with additional flexibility on weekends highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavioral support and therapeutic interventions for children with diverse needs is preferred.
  • \n
  • Previous experience working with children and families impacted by intellectual or developmental disabilities will be considered a significant asset.
  • \n
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for in-home sessions and community outreach.
  • \n
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, will be mandatory prior to employment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
