Role Summary
The Controller oversees all financial operations including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all financial activities while supporting the Chief Financial Officer with strategic financial insight and reporting. The Controller maintains strong internal controls and ensures financial data integrity across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
LMA
- Provide leadership, structure, and accountability within the finance team.
- Ensure team members understand roles, expectations, and financial standards.
- Support development, training, and performance improvement.
Finance Process
- Develops, implements, and enforces standardized financial processes for payroll, accounts payable, and month-end close activities.
- Establishes and maintains financial controls to reduce risk, ensure accuracy, and prevent fraud.
- Holds accounting and administrative staff accountable to financial procedures, deadlines, and documentation standards.
Accounts Payable
- Oversee accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing, approval, and document tracking policies.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies.
Payroll
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll policies.
- Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting
- Maintain timely and accurate monthly financial reports and closing.
- Prepare financial reports for leadership, financial institutions, and bonding agencies.
- Ensures financial data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.

Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting. Construction industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, job cost accounting, Work in Progress (WIP) reporting, over/under billings, cash flow management, and subcontractor compliance requirements including COIs and lien documentation.
- Proven ability to lead accounting teams, implement internal controls, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strategic and detail-oriented financial leader with high integrity and the ability to communicate financial performance clearly to executive and operations leadership.
