As a   s easonal   Associate Software Engineer, you will w ork closely with   S enior,   L ead ,   or   P rincipal   S oftware   E ngineer s   along with   Product Owner   to design, develop ,   and   maintain   software components and products that support H&R Block business applications.  

Day to day,   you’ll ...  

• Use tools, languages, coding standards, and best practices to develop new product features and   maintain   year over year product functionality and enhancements  

• Create and execute unit tests and addresses bugs  

• Work closely with   the   Q uality   A ssurance,   U ser   E xperience, and other related teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements and approach  

• Design, develop, and   maintain   software components  

• Create and   maintain   documentation of design approaches  

• Create and   maintain   documentation on   internal   architecture of the system  

• Participate in technical design and code reviews for all new enhancements and maintenance work delivered  

• Use business and functional requirements to produce technical specifications and product requirements  

• Create,   maintain , and execute Unit and Component Testing  

• Maintain and improve current knowledge on the latest technologies relevant to the role   regarding   algorithms, language, design   methodology , third-party development tools, application platforms, hardware compatibility, and operating systems  

What you'll bring to the team...:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.

Work Experience:

• Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to develop creative solutions in assigned projects
• Demonstrated effective time management, organizational, prioritization, and planning skills
• Initiative and curiosity to continuously learn and improve
• Knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle
• Knowledge of software development concepts and practices
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Technical aptitude and the ability to adapt to new technologies
