Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles. Your passion for dentistry and patient well-being will help create a positive, comfortable environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience.
Schedule:
- This is a Part Time Position up to 10 hours per week
- Saturdays 9am - 2pm
- Flexible Hours on Wednesday OR Thursday for 5 hours
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental health status
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options
- Take dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental instruments and materials
Qualifications
- Must have a valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in Illinois.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, aseptic technique, and medical coding
- Experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical imaging, and pediatric-specific procedures confidently
