"Repost" Financial Specialist 1 (Finance Division)

Job Title

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example Of Duties

• Reconcile, prepare, and analyze accounts
• Refund review and processing
• Monitor, screen, and prepare disbursements
• Perform cash control functions (daily cash registers cash outs, deposit preparations, and reconciliations)
• Perform reconciliations of local fund accounts and automated systems
• Conduct financial and internal control audits for accuracy and compliance
• Follow accounting and internal control standards to maintain fiscal integrity
• Advise managers on deadlines, rules, regulations, or related information
• Act as a liaison and/or establish working relationships with divisions, vicinages, or other outside organizations
• Establish and or maintain record keeping and/or tracking systems
• Communicate policies, rules, and regulations to team members
• Recommend and implement improvements in operating procedures or systems
• Participate in team/work unit meetings
• Reconcile electronic payments within the various court systems, ensuring payments are identified and posted accurately
• Navigate various legacy and proprietary technology systems to extract needed data
• Perform other related duties as required

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses. Six of these credit hours must be in accounting and three years of professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis. Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses, including six accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience -OR- a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above. Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
