Laboratory Technician - Power Systems

Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Technician in the Power Systems Division, where you will play a vital role in the advancement of innovative welding, compressed air, hydraulic, and auxiliary power solutions tailored for the construction and fabrication sectors. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will be involved in key fabrication, troubleshooting, and testing operations for next-generation products including the EnPak, HDI, Bobcat, Trailblazer, and Big Blue engine-driven families. Essential Functions Your key responsibilities will include: Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team of Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Welding engineers to perform essential engineering tests such as V-A curves, heat tests, reliability qualifications, third-party certifications, and environmental protection testing. Working closely with the product certification manager to draft and update Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification reports, including CSA, CE, CCC, ETL, NOM, and more. Assisting in diagnostics, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for prototype, production, and field return units. Effectively managing your time in alignment with engineering teams and fellow technicians to meet project goals. Promoting and maintaining a culture of safety within the laboratory environment. Minimum Qualifications A positive, growth-oriented mindset along with strong interpersonal skills. A 2-year technical degree in electronics, electro-mechanical, or a related field. Capability to read and understand schematic diagrams; proficiency in repairing circuit boards to the component level is preferred. Proficient mechanical skills with hands-on experience using power tools, ensuring safety while handling electrically powered prototypes (400Vac and 500Vdc). A proven team player with a proactive attitude, high motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working well with minimal supervision. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. The ability to compose clear and concise reports is essential. Willingness to travel occasionally as necessary.
