Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its office in Plano, Texas. The ideal candidate will have 2‑3 years of litigation experience, with a preference for those familiar with tort, professional liability, homeowner's association, labor/employment, or construction defect matters. This role requires maintaining client confidentiality and working collaboratively within a team. Duties Provide initial analysis and develop case strategy. Prepare and respond to discovery. Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and attend hearings. Explain legal options to clients and highlight potential outcomes or threats. Build and maintain relationships with clients. Negotiate, research, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Requirements Juris Doctor degree from an ABA‑accredited law school. In good standing and able to practice law in Texas. Strong critical thinking skills and solid academic background. Urgency in problem‑solving, meeting deadlines, and achieving goals. Knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive. Excellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker, and problem solver. Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented with a track record of meeting billable hours goals. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Detail‑oriented, organized, and effective. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus. Education Juris Doctor degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Texas.
