Medical Assistant PositionAssigned Location for 2026-2027 school year: Austintown Elementary School (building and report times may vary based on student needs)Contracted Hours/Days: 5.75 hours per day; will follow the student school calendar with an additional 5 daysSalary: $15.27 per hour. The starting hourly rate is in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement. Reports to: District Nurses, Building Principals, and Superintendent or designeeEvaluation: Performance in the position will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.Qualifications:Current and valid Medical Assistant Certification preferredCurrent CPR certification or willing to obtainExperience in a school setting preferredDuties and Responsibilities:Provide health care support to students and District Nurses where needed in the DistrictMaintains correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionalsProvides school health services to the student population serviced as directed by the District Nurses and Building AdministrationAssists and supports the District Nurses with the special needs of students in the school setting, including: Administers medicationProvides first aidPerforms documentation and student record keeping activitiesMaintains correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionals.Must have the ability to deal with a variety of situations and personalitiesExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to work as part of a team and interact with people in a professional, friendly, supportive manner at all timesRequirements must be on file before startingAppropriate and valid Medical Assistant Certification if applicableCurrent CPR certificationCurrent Favorable State (BCII) and Federal (FBI) background checksRapback EnrollmentComplete Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and TrainingNegative pre-employment drug screen resultEmployees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education.
