Lead Floral Designer Location: French Florist - Pico Job Type: Full-time, weekend availability required French Florist in Los Angeles is seeking a creative, experienced, and passionate Lead Floral Designer to join and grow with our team. As our Lead Designer, you’ll design arrangements that leave a lasting impact on our customers while guiding a supportive team. Overview The Lead Florist/Designer oversees daily floral production, ensuring designs meet company standards for quality and creativity while maintaining efficiency and organization. Job Duties and Responsibilities Ensure designers produce floral arrangements to company standards for quality and style. Assign orders to designers and monitor completion of all daily orders, ensuring accurate dispatch at the correct delivery time. Work directly with dispatch on any delivery issues. Communicate with the CSR team and lead on client order issues or required floral replacements. Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing workspaces, floral window displays, and plant areas. Assist with restocking supplies, including FF branded marketing materials, add‑ons, and designer supplies. Assist walk‑in customers with questions or orders, providing excellent customer service. Support shop operations and collaborate with team members as needed. Coordinate with internal teams via Slack to ensure seamless service. Perform additional duties as assigned. Team Leadership & Management Supervise designers by delegating tasks, scheduling, monitoring overtime and meal penalties, and ensuring accountability to core values and the employee handbook. Lead by example with a hands‑on approach, supporting the team during high‑volume periods. Conduct regular performance conversations, including coaching, documentation, and corrective action when necessary. Hold designers accountable while fostering professional development in alignment with company values. Track productivity metrics within the design team. Attend and participate in required corporate meetings and training. Design Operations Oversee daily floral production to ensure all designs meet French Florist’s standards for quality and style. Train and onboard new designers, ensuring proficiency in company standards, design techniques, and tools. Maintain and manage inventory of designer supplies (e.g., orchids, water tubes, tools, floral materials). Ensure design stations, floral window displays, client‑facing areas, wrap station, card/printer station, and plant areas remain clean, organized, and visually appealing. Provide creative leadership while balancing efficiency and operational flow. Qualifications Prior experience in floral design with a strong understanding of styles, mechanics, and trends. Previous team leadership or management experience preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Passion for flowers, design, and creating memorable customer experiences. Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday. Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 lbs (flower buckets, boxes, supplies). Frequent use of hands and arms for cutting, arranging, and wrapping flowers. Comfortable working in a cooler environment and handling water‑based materials. Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits $70,500 per year. Paid Time Off, annual professional development stipend, and monthly cellphone reimbursement. Full time, Tuesday – Saturday.
