Pharmacist in Pineville, LA

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist at a 200+ bed community hospital in Pineville, LA, with an ASAP start. This position offers a dynamic work schedule with four 10-hour shifts per week. Shifts vary and rotate, typically falling between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM, including every other weekend coverage.


Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Shifts rotate between 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
• Utilize hospital IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license for the state of Louisiana
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proven ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and manage multiple priorities
