Description Responsible for the safe and accurate processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results, maintaining laboratory equipment and performing quality control in the clinical laboratory. Also responsible for specifically designated lead tech responsibilities. Employment Type Full time Shift Night Shift Job Title Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – Qualified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) may also be considered based on experience, certification, and organizational policy. Responsibilities Receives specimens, clarifies test requests, checks specimen integrity/labeling, organizes, prepares, and processes specimens. Works independently in assigned departments with the laboratory, performs testing, evaluates results, solves problems, documents results, and communicates reports as needed. Assists in training and orientation of new employees and students. Performs specimen collection duties. Qualifications MLS (ASCP) certification or MLT (ASCP) certification. Associate’s or Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology. National licensure as a Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician – ASCP, AMT. Language Skills Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
