Automotive Service Technician - Growth, Benefits & Training

General Service Technician / Mechanic Compensation: $18 – $23 hourly (up to $23 for most skilled technicians); Schedule: full‑time; weekends off; climate‑controlled shop. Job Overview Christian Brothers Automotive seeks energetic, upbeat technicians with a positive attitude who are ready to master their craft and gain experience. The ideal candidate delivers excellence in workmanship, maintains a clean and efficient work environment, and proactively solves guest problems. Responsibilities Perform all maintenance and repair services, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, suspension alignments, tire mounting and balancing, and fluid services. Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively. Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections. Ensure all preventive maintenance reports are complete and accurate. Comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right‑to‑know. Assist in housekeeping functions as directed by management. Communicate the extent of any damage or malfunctions on a guest’s vehicle to the service department. Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization. Qualifications Positive attitude and a desire to serve others. Hands‑on skills in lube and fluid flushes, tire rotation, brake replacement, alignments, and basic automotive maintenance. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, though not required. Opportunity to learn from highly skilled technicians. Physical Requirements Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 lb. Work with tools on vehicles lifted above head height. Operate in tight spaces dictated by vehicle repair needs. Use hand tools with required dexterity. Walk or stand for majority of the workday. Drive manual transmission vehicles.
