PROJECT ENGINEER

Project Engineer


We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective communication, planning and problem-solving skills.


Working closely with project managers, design teams, suppliers, contractors and customers, you will help ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will contribute to both technical development and day-to-day project coordination, taking ownership of assigned tasks and providing clear progress updates.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, co-ordination and delivery of engineering projects.
• Prepare, review and maintain technical documentation, specifications, drawings and project records.
• Monitor project progress, costs, risks, actions and change requests, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical queries and delivery challenges.
• Support procurement activities, supplier liaison, equipment selection and review of quotations.
• Attend design reviews, site meetings and project progress meetings as required.
• Ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant engineering standards, legislation, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, handover activities and the preparation of operating or maintenance information.

About you


You will ideally hold a degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, together with experience in a project engineering, design engineering or similar role. Experience within a regulated, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure or process environment would be advantageous.


You should be confident interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities and building positive working relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a methodical approach and the ability to work independently. Familiarity with engineering software, project management tools and relevant industry standards would be beneficial.
