Experience a rewarding opportunity as a contract School Psychologist working in the beautiful Port Townsend, WA area. In this position, you’ll have the chance to support students and educators while advancing your professional journey as a traveling specialist. The assignment is set for the 2024-2025 academic year, beginning September 2 and ending June 18, with the option for renewal.
Your primary responsibilities will include providing comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote student well-being and academic success. You’ll conduct individual and group counseling, consult with teachers and families, and participate in IEP meetings to develop and monitor educational plans.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid certification/license (or eligibility) as a School Psychologist
- Proven experience in school-based psychological services
- Ability to interpret assessment data and write clear, actionable reports
- Collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability as a traveling professional
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations and assessments of students’ cognitive, social, and emotional needs
- Provide crisis intervention and counseling when necessary
- Develop and support evidence-based interventions for diverse learners
- Serve as a resource on student mental health and learning challenges
- Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines regarding special education
This role is designed for travel candidates and offers a competitive hourly rate of $50. In addition, you’ll receive housing support of $440 per week and a meals and incidentals allowance of $272 per week for the duration of your assignment.
