Principal AI Software Engineer – Technology & Experience (TechEx)

You will partner with our clients and other West Monroe team members on transformational AI projects. On client projects, you will work with a Technical Architect to gather technical requirements, define platform and integration design, and perform the configuration/development of the solution in a team environment. This role will focus on building intelligent agents and advanced prompting systems that enhance automation, decision‑making, and user experience with our clients. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams to architect and own AI‑driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents that automate workflows and enhance platform intelligence.
• Develop advanced prompting strategies for LLMs (e.g., Claude, GPT, Gemini) to support engineering and product use cases.
• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of AI features—from ideation and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align AI capabilities with business goals and user needs.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing backend services and APIs (e.g., Java, React, AWS).
• Ensure scalability, security, and compliance of AI systems.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data‑driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
• Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required.
• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise with Object Oriented concepts.
• Experience integrating AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) into day‑to‑day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high‑quality outputs.
