CNC Machinist 2nd Shift - Lathe

Responsibilities Setup and operate CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. Properly use and maintain all measuring tools and devices used in inspection of all components. Perform set-ups on various CNC production equipment such as milling, turning, or similar operations. Fabricate precision tools and fixturing to tight tolerances and complex geometries based on specifications. Read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances to ensure accurate dimensional design. Program and operate CNC machines with a high level of knowledge. Understand material properties and special machining requirements. Measure, inspect, and troubleshoot dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications. Complete routine and priority tasks defined by management to ensure on‑time deliveries. Perform periodic maintenance, including dismantling or partially dismantling machines and making hand‑tool repairs. Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly workspace. Additional Responsibilities Meet company standards for quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work‑related tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior. Work Hours 3:45 pm – 12:15 am, Monday‑Friday. Qualifies for a sign‑on bonus and shift differential. Physical Requirements Work may be active, requiring standing or sitting for long durations and occasional repetitive tasks. The employee may lift or move objects up to 20 pounds. Employees must grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small parts and components. Noise level is usually moderate but may be louder at times. Must wear appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment such as masks, glasses, gloves, and specialty garments. The required PPE training allows safe handling and processing of chemicals like adhesives, lubricants, solvents, and safe operation of job‑related equipment and tools. Requirements Experience: 3–5 years in a similar position preferred. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience. CNC certification or CNC trade school is a major plus. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls. Understanding of Virtual Gibbs and manual programming (G codes/M codes). Familiarity with operation of DNC systems. Setup time reduction a plus. Prototyping experience a plus. Strong sense of ownership and work ethic, written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards. Knowledge of Lean Principles including Just in Time, and setup time reduction a plus. Pay range for this position is $26.00–$36.00 per hour depending on experience.
