Local Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Emergency Department Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week contract in Garberville, California. The role offers up to $3,240 per week based on experience and provides a chance to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced setting while exploring Northern California's natural beauty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to ED patients with medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring based on acuity
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions per provider orders and protocols
• Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and patient care
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and other clinical indicators
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts
• Perform wound care, splinting, specimen collection, medication administration, and other emergency nursing procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, EMS, and other team members
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, medication-safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Successful completion of applicable facility credentialing, compliance, background, and health requirements

Preferred Skills:

• NIHSS certification preferred but not required
• TNCC certification preferred but not required
• Previous Emergency Department, Emergency Room, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
