Job Overview Job ID: 183540 | Department: Behavioral Health Unit – SLRMC. Part‑time RN (0.4 FTE). Hours: 3 pm‑11 pm, days vary. The RN coordinates care for patients and families using the nursing process, providing critical thinking, care planning, evaluation, and family support. Responsibilities Delegate nursing care activities and monitor care per patient need and team member capabilities. Support evidence‑based practice and incorporate best practices into daily care. Mentor staff and students, assisting in creating a positive work environment and initiatives for quality and patient care. Communicate effectively with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff, and patients. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, safety goals, infection prevention, and risk management. Document patient care accurately. Education Completed an accredited nursing program and current valid nursing license for the state of Iowa. Licenses / Certifications Valid nursing license. BCLS certification. Completion of one hour of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Basic computer knowledge. Effective interpersonal, verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to deal efficiently with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to move and lift patients and use appropriate equipment. Ability to meet unit competency, complete orientation, legally perform essential functions, and demonstrate medication administration and nursing competencies.
