Technical Project Manager

Role Description

Lead a mission-critical platform engineering program supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)! As the Project Manager, you will support technical, management, and administrative aspects directly impacting Veteran care.

The Technical Project Manager provides strategic oversight and day-to-day management of a mission-critical VA healthcare cloud application while ensuring all contract requirements are performed in accordance with approved plans, schedules, and performance standards under a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in program or project management
• 5 years of experience managing complex federal information technology (IT) programs
• Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business administration or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)

Requirements

• Expert experience successfully managing complex technical programs in an Agile SAFe environment
• Expert experience supporting Federal Government programs and comparable enterprise-level applications and services that deliver Mission-Critical functionality
• Expert experience maintaining regular communication with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Government technical leadership
• Expert experience with strategic planning and program oversight
• Expert experience coordinating technical and operational activities
• Expert experience scheduling and milestone management
• Expert experience with risk identification and mitigation
• Expert experience performing quality assurance and performance monitoring
• Expert experience coordinating with Government stakeholders and mission partners
• Expert experience with resource allocation and personnel management across various contract types (e.g., Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Materials (T&M))
• Excellent ability to manage complex multi-team programs with 24/7 operational requirements and stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments
• Above average knowledge of cloud-based platform operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, and DevSecOps delivery models
• Knowledge of VA Office of Information Technology (OI&T) governance, cadence, and enterprise policies and directives
• Knowledge of VA Technical Reference Model (TRM) compliance
• Experience using Jira
• Experience supporting a federal agency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
