Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Santa Maria area. Collaborate onsite within a dedicated school environment for the duration of the 2026-2027 academic year, with flexible opportunities to contribute during ESY (Extended School Year) if desired. Your expertise will enhance student well-being and learning, as you become an integral member of an LVN professional pool—sometimes providing one-on-one care when required.

Qualifications:

• Active and valid California LVN license (required)
• Professional experience working as an LVN, ideally in educational or child-focused settings
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with school staff, students, and families
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary support team
• Commitment to upholding student confidentiality and school policies

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to students in accordance with IEPs, 504 plans, and physician instructions
• Administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to health emergencies during the school day
• Participate in LVN pool coverage, with flexibility to support 1:1 caseloads as needed
• Keep accurate health records and documentation following district and legal requirements
• Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with caregivers and district teams regarding students’ health needs
