Temporary Public Safety Ambassadors Pool

Position Overview The Temporary Public Safety Ambassador serves as a critical link between the University Community and the University Police Department, operating 24/7 to support campus operations. The role involves protective, security, enforcement, and public contact duties, working independently while reporting regularly to a supervisor. Key Responsibilities and Competencies Act as additional visual monitoring for the Police Department. Provide timely notifications to Command Staff for hazards, suspicious activity, or emergencies. Maintain accurate reports documenting services performed. Be approachable, proactive, and aware of individuals who appear lost or seek assistance. Offer the public accurate directions, information, and assistance to North Carolina A&T State University students, faculty, and visitors. Qualifications Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college education preferred. Security or related experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact cordially with a diverse community. Proficient in operating a portable radio and providing clear transmissions. Ability to assess situations quickly, accurately, and effectively. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Reliable transportation and punctuality for all assigned shifts. Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong, verifiable work history in customer service or similar roles. Clear background check, including criminal history and references. Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times. Physically capable of working in all weather conditions.
