Job Opportunity

Position: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Akron, OH

Shift Details:

• Schedule: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 AM - 05:30 PM)
• On-Call Requirements:
• 1-2 call shifts on weekdays (from end of shift until 7:00 AM the following morning)
• 1 weekend call every 6 weeks (24 hours each on Saturday and Sunday)
• 1 working shift on Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks, typically coordinated with weekend call
• Potential inclusion in holiday call schedule if necessary

Position Description:

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience, preferably in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The ideal candidate will have experience scrubbing for open heart and vascular procedures, including wired vascular cases.

Requirements:

• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Permanent Ohio license or a compact license in hand at the time of submission
• Active certifications must be held prior to submission
• One reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is REQUIRED

Additional Information:

• Travelers may only be submitted for one job at a time.
• Background checks will be reviewed, and travelers with open cases will not be accepted.
• Exemption from nicotine-free facility requirements is applicable to Nurses and Certified Surgical Technicians.
• Candidates must provide proof of a negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen within 12 months of starting.
• BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract.

Competency Requirements:

Travel candidates who remain on a continuous contract for a minimum of one year or return in the subsequent calendar year are required to complete the Annual Hands-On Competency. Non-compliance with this requirement may result in removal from the schedule.

Modules:

• Pre-start modules are variable; average time required is between 6-15 hours.
• Annual modules are billable for up to 4 hours for travelers on continuous contracts for one year.
