Clinical Research Assistant - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Study Therapist – Part-time, 10 hours/week, located in Palo Alto, CA. Main Responsibilities Undergo training in the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Protocol, including familiarizing with safety procedures, following safety protocols, assisting with ACT therapy delivery, delivering therapy via remote sessions, and recording sessions for rating. Provide ACT to study participants: deliver ACT protocol for treating chronic pain, collect relevant information, assign homework, facilitate scheduling of sessions and evaluations, collaborate with other researchers, and assist with other study‑related duties as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of related experience. Experience conducting groups via video. Experience performing a learning‑based therapy (e.g., CBT or PST). Master's degree (desired). Experience working with individuals with chronic pain conditions preferred. Familiarity with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Veterans, and the VA setting preferred. Knowledge of the VA health care system regarding clinical research trials preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and good computer skills. Ability to read and understand the study protocol. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to prioritize and organize workload and adapt to changing priorities. Must have an approved appointment with VAPAHCS and complete a background check before commencing work. Compensation Salary: $36.61 per hour.
