Dental Laboratory Technician

Job Duties

Provide oral health services to include detailed technical operations in the fabrication, design, testing, repair, and constructing of complex dental prostheses for patients with severe dentofacial abnormalities.

Construct porcelain and/or acrylic bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and crowns to resolve problems of retention, balance, and tension on natural teeth and tissue.

Advise dentist and dental specialists on difficult design and construction problems such as fabricating complex dental or intra-oral maxillofacial appliances, bite openers, swing-lock, precision attachments, and obturator prostheses.

Fabricate removable, partial, and complete dentures for intricate fixed dental prostheses, ensuring normal chewing, speech, and esthetic functions.

Create stone models, wax patterns, and casts in precious metals, fusing porcelain to metals when necessary.

Plan classroom and laboratory instruction for dental laboratory technicians to enhance their skills.
